In 2016, Logos Prep added the position of Academic Mentor. This person assists new students in their transition to the school and helps struggling students identified by classroom teachers or administration. Come to this session to hear how this position has benefited our school and could help the students and the co-teachers at your school.  Tips on things that have worked well and pitfalls to be avoided will be discussed in detail.

  1. The participant will be given ideas on how to partner with families to identify students and families who are struggling.
  2. The participant will be given suggestions on how to partner with students that are struggling by introducing them to strategies and tools that can be put into place to help students reach a higher level of success and confidence.
  3. The participant will be encouraged to partner with parents as they manage, direct and support their students during satellite days. Emphasis will be given to help parents recognize their responsibilities and give suggestions on achieving a more successful and less stressful satellite day.
