Unfortunately, too many families enter the college admission process focused on goals such as attending an "elite" college, setting up career opportunities, and having a “college experience," and the PSAT/SAT and ACT tests are seen as core to achieving these goals. Yet, placing these goals as primary fails to align with the University-Model of first and foremost establishing strong disciples of Jesus Christ.  It is critical that University-Model schools take ownership of the test prep space in a responsible way to guide families in keeping first things first and also provide their children every advantage in preparing for these tests which can create significant advantages for students. Join Dr. Mark Tarpley, administrator at Christian Life Preparatory School in Fort Worth, TX, as he discusses how responsibly preparing students for these tests can be both an opportunity to raise student scores to create college opportunities AND create a meaningful partnership with families to further the purpose of the University-Model school. Dr. Tarpley began preparing students for the PSAT/SAT and ACT over twenty years ago and has worked with a number of Christian schools in relation to these tests to support schools in fulfilling their mission and vision.
